Obituary of Rev. Dr. George G. Franklin

Rev. Dr. George G. Franklin was born to the late Maude Green and John Franklin on June 4, 1924 in Nelson County, Virginia. As a child, his family relocated to Trenton, New Jersey where he was educated in the Trenton Public School System. Rev. Franklin served as a Warrant Officer in the United States Navy during World War II and was released in 1942 on Honorable Discharge. He attended Dallas Seminary and Calvary Grace Theological Seminary, earned his Master of Divinity from St. Andrews in London, England and also attended Ohio State University. He served as Department of New Jersey Chaplin for the American Legion and Post Commander of the National Chaplin Association. He was also a board member of the Equal Opportunity at Rowan University. He was a 33rd Degree Mason. Rev. Franklin served as a pastor for thirty-five years at seven churches. He superannuated from pastoring in 1999 at St. James A.M.E. Church, Ocean City, NJ he also has served as a supply pastor for many churches. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Evangelist Virginia Franklin, four children Christina Suttle, Atlanta, GA, Shelley R. Eaddy, Florence, NJ, Clenon Rubin Latimer, Glassboro, NJ and Terry V. Lambright, Morrisville, PA. Four grandchildren Jonah Lambright, Morrisville, PA, Aaron Latimer, Glassboro, NJ, Dionne Williams, Killeen, TX and Anthony Williams, Boston, MA. Four great grandchildren, Ashley Hart, Atlanta, GA, Emery Williams, Boston, MA, Landon Williams, Boston, MA, Cade Williams, Boston, MA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
