Friends Forever posted a condolence
Tuesday, August 25, 2020
Dennis Perry loved to dance and have fun! As teenagers, he and his “guys” made sure their money was right so they could get tickets to see the “Temptations”, “Four Tops”, “Marvin Gaye”, “Gladys Knight and the Pips”, and many of our other talented entertainers. Dennis and his buddies, the “JB’s”, worked odd jobs as teenagers for what they wanted, and did not allow the harassment and segregation of the times to deter them from accomplishing their goals and desired lifestyles. In 1964, Dennis and his friends celebrated their Booker T. Washington High School Senior Prom, they received their Diplomas, and they continued life’s journey while maintaining the forever bond with the “JB’s”. This group of young men fought for our Country, became role models for our youth, caretakers for our parents, and will forever be special.

My wife , Rev. Dee , Dennis ' 64 classmate and I send condolences to the family of our friend and fellow Norfolkian Dennis Perry. Many pleasant stories we could share of our upbringing and our relationship with Dennis and his and our close deceased friend Captain Alan " Pinkie " Boffman. I think the last time I saw Dennis he was trying to help his mother become comfortable in one of our local nursing facilities where she lived.Rest in peace our friend and we will see you " in that great getting up morning ".
