Obituary of Carl L James

Carl LaMont James II was born on June 8t, 2001 in Cooper Hospital to Carl LaMont James and Christine M. Liles.   He departed this life on his deceased Father’s Birthday, Thurs Sept 24, 2020.  He was educated in the Camden School System where he finished his education at Woodrow Wilson High School.   As a child and teenager, Carl attended his family church at The St. John Church of the Apostolic Faith in Camden, NJ under the leadership of his late Uncle and Aunt Bishop Carlyle and Mary Tarte; then under the leadership of his Cousin Pastor Arnetha Thompson and Samuel Tarte.  Mont Mont aka Mont Glizzy as he was known by his friends enjoyed spending time with his family especially during the holidays and hanging out with his friends.  Mont loved music and was inspired by his professional musician Uncle Darryl Jackson Jr. in writing lyrics and making beats to compose rap songs. As a young child, Mont would travel with Darryl to different music gigs and help set up and break down different instruments for performances.  Mont loved basketball, riding bikes and playing video games.  Like his Father, Mont loved to dress nice.  He would spend hours shopping for the latest clothes and sneakers.  He would also make sure his little cousins were dressed up to par as well.      Mont Glizzy lost his Father at the young age of 11.  His life was never the same after his Father’s passing.  Mont had to develop quickly into a Man at such a young age.  He was a jokester and love to laugh but at the same time he was an old and wise soul trapped in a young person’s body.  He leaned and depended on his Pop Pops (Lonnie Liles, Sr and the late Tommie L. Pugh, Jr.) for guidance and life lessons.  Like his Father, Mont Mont had a big heart and was self less in giving especially when it came down to his family.  Mont became a leader and took on the role of mentoring and providing for his lil cousins who were more raised like his brothers and sisters.  Mont Mont was extremely over protective of his cousins William, Isaiah, Mone’t and Thomas (TP).  He also had a special bond and love with his brother Dashaun and his niece (NyAsia) and nephew (Naveen).      Although Mont Mont was loved by many; he was blessed with two additional Mother figures, his Aunts (Ta’Sha and Cookie).  He loved spending nights at Aunt Cookie’s house to play fight, argue and boss William and TP around.  He loved spending time with his Aunt Ta’Sha for her spiritual nurturing, home cooked meals and was joined at her hips during her routine travels out of town.      Mont Mont is predeceased by his Father (Big Mont)  and leaves to cherish his memories to his Mother Christine M. Liles;  SecondMothersAunts (Ta’Sha and Cookie Pugh); His Older Brothers: Juan and Dashaun Liles; His Sister: Candance Carson James; His Grandfather: Lonnie Liles Sr. and Step Grandmother Tonya Liles;Uncles:Lonnie Liles Jr..(Holly Goad); Ywain  Townsend, Darryl Jackson, Jr. (Lexis) and Terron Carson; Aunts: Juanita Norma, Rose Townsend, Alexis Liles, Briana Townsend and Tasha Cottle.  Special Friends: His unborn child mother (Brittany) and Long Time friend (Destiny).  He also leaves to cherish his memories to a host of other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.    Lovingly Submitted,  The Family  Sorrowfully Submitted, the Family
