Abdullah was so loved.
I will miss him every single day. I started working at Bancroft two years ago, and when I tell you this young man impacted my life beyond disbelief. His heart is made of pure gold and his smile could light up any room he walked into. This young man was more than just a respectful young man. He was incredibly smart, talented, kind, outgoing, and I could go on for days with so much more.
Abdullah was truly one of a kind and no matter what he always managed to have a smile on his face. He always managed to say Hi every time he saw me and he always asked how I was doing. He was so selfless, and he was and always will be one of the greatest people I have met in my lifetime. One of the best parts in my work day was knowing I would get to see Abdullah in the morning during breakfast in the CAF and at the end of the day on the way to his bus. And the days I didn’t get to see Abdullah were not the same.
I remember the endless conversation I would have with Abdullah when I saw him in the hallways of school, and I would do anything to see your bright smile and give you one more huge hug and tell you how much you impacted this world.
Abdullah had so many passions and hobbies, and one big one was his love for collecting shoes!
That was something he and I both loved talking about was shoes!
This young man impacted my life so much when I first met him, that when his birthday came around in March last year I made such he had a Nike gift card to go spoil himself with a new pair of shoes. I did not get to do that for you this year because I did not get to see you in the school. I was so excited to see what new shoes you were going to buy this time.
You’re and always will be so loved Abdullah, Bancroft will never be complete without our Abdullah.
Rest easy King, I can’t wait until I get to see you again. You will be missed deeply but never forgotten bub!

I have not had the pleasure of having Abdullah as my student but I always said hi to him in the hallways. I will always remember him as having a huge smile. He’d smile and nod in response to me. He was a kind soul and will be deeply missed by his Bancroft family. I’m praying for you all.

On behalf of the entire Bancroft School community please accept our deepest condolences of your loss. Abdullah was a kind, gentle soul and acknowledged everyone with a slight nod of his head and his shy grin. All of us at the Bancroft School will miss him but we will not soon forget him. We were all fortunate to have had the opportunity to know Abdullah. Rest Easy! Isaiah 43:2

There are simply not enough words or time to express how special Abdullah was to us at the Promise Neighborhood Family Success Center. I was personally so touched by his presence and will miss him deeply. I was sad that the pandemic took him from his school but grateful to have the extra time with him at our Center because of it. We wish the family our deepest condolences and prayers. Your light will shine on dear Abdullah.

I didn't have Abdullah in my class but that didn't matter. Everyone knew him, walking in the hallway, working at the school store.
Always with a friendly smile and a soft "Hi". He was sweet, kind and very friendly. He always was so proud to show off his clothes and shoes. He was just a sweet, sweet guy. Abdullah you will be missed by many. Keep smiling down on your family.

Abdullah, I was privileged to have you in my class. We had so many memories: making portraits, having special guests in our class, or when you were helping a classmate with math! You impacted so many lives! You will be forever missed.
Dear Miles and Pitt family, my deepest condolences to you for a loss of unimaginable magnitude.

Some souls are so gentle and kind that they make the rest of us better for knowing them; Abdullah was such a soul. For the many years I have known him at school, he has been pleasant, eager-to-please, and polite. Always looking for familiar faces to say hello to, his smile was a bright spark in many of our days. I am most grateful to have been witness to his gradual increase in self confidence and self esteem. A stylish, social, and welcoming presence in his classroom, job site or even simply in the hallway, he has been a joy to have as a member of our school family. It has truly been a privilege for us to be a part of his short journey in life.
We will miss him!

Abdullah has always been seen so kind, so soft spoken, so friendly. He would always find me in the hallway and say Hi. He was so excited the one year I became his Vocational Teacher and Manager at the school store. For Halloween that year, we dressed up like the characters of "Good Burger". Our class won. Abdullah was so happy. Miss Nikki

Abdullah was a quiet student, but I felt like he was always smiling when I saw him. He always appeared cool, calm and go with the flow. The school will definitely miss his smile and presence. I hope he continues to smile and look down on his Family and Bancroft, we will surely be thinking of him.

While I have never had the privilege of being Abdullah's teacher, I have had the pleasure of knowing him for the past 7 years. I could always count on seeing his smile to brighten up my day and reinforce why I became a teacher. Abdullah truly is the sweetest and just an amazing young man all around. He will be missed by so many. I know that while we may not be able to see his awesome smile and hear his soft spoken voice, Abdullah will be smiling down at us and showing off his dapper attire.
Fly high with the angels Abdullah, for you are home.
