Obituary of Leonard Jamison

Leonard Joseph Jamison was born October 7, 1949 in Harlem, NY to Zeb and Audrey Jamison and was the oldest of two children. Lennie was educated in the New York City school system and after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968 and served in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1988. Lennie married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine, in 1968 and recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. From this loving union two children were born, Lauren and Tracy. He was the president of the Willingboro PAL basketball program, as well as coaching within the league. He developed a special bond with several of his players, which continued until they became young men. He also enjoyed following the Willingboro High School basketball teams throughout the years. After retiring from the Air Force, Lennie was employed by Rowan University, where he retired as a systems analyst August 2013. Lennie and Lorraine enjoyed their retirement cruising the Caribbean and following their grandsons around the country to watch their basketball, baseball and football games. He cheered for all of the kids on the teams as if they were his own. Lennie was proud of both of his children, one of his proudest moments as a father, was when he was able to see his children receive their Bachelor’s degrees. On Sunday January 10, 2021, Lennie left us. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lorraine; daughter, Lauren; son Tracy, his wife Norma; three grandsons Jailen, Trey and Jaden; his brother Richard; his cousin Sharon; niece Traci Lauren; nephew Kyle (Iana); brother-in-law Leonard; step sister Ramona and (extended family) Darryl and Winford Bethea, the surviving members of the Inwood Street 52, Emma Maldonado; and fur babies Julius and Chase. Lennie was preceded in death by his parents, Zeb and Audrey Jamison, and his aunts Gloria Ford and Edrena Cumberbatch. RIP: Lennie, Daddy, Pop, and Pop Pop. We’ll always love you.
