Cook, 67, was called home to her heavenly Father on the morning of January 28, 2021. Eva had the ability to light up a room with her warmth and her love. She was the person that would check on you, pray for you, and be that listening ear or needed shoulder on which to lean. To know Eva, was to know Eva’s love and that was a gift. She was loved by so many and has forever left her mark on this world. Eva Mae Cook was born on August 3, 1953 in Washington, North Carolina. Eva moved to North Philadelphia in her younger years and completed her education through the Philadelphia School system. She met the love of her life, Enoch Cook III, while attending Dobbins High School. Shortly after graduating high school she and Enoch wed and extended their family with a son, Enoch Cook IV, and a daughter, Erica M. Cook. Eva and Enoch relocated to Pennsauken, NJ when she was pregnant with Erica. Eva and Enoch were married for 47 joyous years. They were inseparable and their love undeniable. Soon after Eva completed her high school career she moved on to various other jobs-Girard Bank, Sun Oil, Hahnemann Hospital, Macy’s, and National Board of Medical Examiners. She served as a Project Assistant for the National Board of Medical Examiners for 24 years. She was adored by many at her job and formed forever friendships. Eva suffered a stroke in 2010 and retired from the workforce two years later. Retirement gave Eva a chance to slow down and spend more time with her family and that she did! Eva Cook was a phenomenal grandmother. She attended school trips with her grandchildren, celebrated their birthdays, cheered them on at sporting events, and created so many memorable moments for them to cherish forever. Eva was a God-fearing woman. Her last church home was True Covenant Worship Center. She sewed into the ministry as much as she could. Praise and worship was her favorite part of every church service. She recognized that praise and worship was how we could express our gratitude to God. She would wait at the end of service to tell the choir how their songs moved her and did the same for Pastor Eric after one of his powerful sermons. Eva put her trust in the Lord and raised her children to know God, believe in God, and trust in God. It is with the heart of a servant that Eva Cook provided so much love and care to her family. She gave so much to her children and never did they doubt that she was their number one fan. She prayed with them and for them because she knew the power of prayer. As Eva was known to say, “I know a man and He has me in the palm of His hand.” And now he has called her home. Eva M. Cook leaves her husband Enoch Cook III, two children Enoch Cook IV (Chantel Cook) and Erica M. Cook; four grandchildren Aigner, Evan, Enoch V, and Logan; her mother Rosa Mitchell; her siblings Maggie Mitchell, Judy Jones (Jeffrey Palmer), and Robert Mitchell, Jr.; her uncle William Mitchell; her two sisters in laws Olivia Johns and Pauline Hanna. She also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews
