Dorothy Farmer was born on January 22, 1935 to the late Lavinia Farmer in Lawnside, NJ and was the youngest of two children. Dorothy was educated in the Lawnside and Bordentown School district. She accepted Christ at a very young age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Church and Grace Temple Church in Lawnside, NJ. Dorothy gave birth to four children, her daughters, Fern Farmer, Lisa Farmer and Denee Green and her son Portier "Porty" Farmer. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children and Mommom to her two children, Lamesha Green and Terron Green. Dorothy began her early career working at Campbell's Soup, Braddocks and Haddonfield Presbyterian Home. With a great love for children, she later ventured into early childhood education and care where she worked at Jump for Joy Daycare as a Teacher's Assistant then later became an at home childcare provider. Dorothy was a very warm hearted, affectionate, and giving woman who welcomed everyone into her home. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, gardening, shopping and collecting a series of figurines. Dorothy was highly respected in the Lawnside community and loved taking daily walks, cooking and spending quality time with family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother Lavinia Farmer, her brother Terrace Farmer and special friend Barbara Roland. Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories to her children, Fern Farmer (Joe Anderson), Lisa Farmer (Steffon Still), Portier "Porty" Farmer (Diana Davis) and Denee (Jermaine) Green, Grandchildren, Lamesha Green, Terron Green. A host of nieces, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family members, her “Bingo Ladies” and special friends: Ruth "Dip" Evans, Rebecca "Sister" White, Carol "Sissy" Goode, Ruth McPhearson and Helen "Pumpkin" Peeden.
