Laverne Dunlap, affectionately known as “Verne” was born on July 10, 1956, to Letitia Dunlap and Leroy Watson in Camden, NJ. She grew up one of 11 children, 6 girls, and 5 boys. She graduated from Camden High School class of 74’ and went on to further her education at William Paterson University. Laverne worked as a long-time Unit Secretary for Garden State Community Hospital before she went on to have four children of her own. She then became a Nursing Assistant at Avista Healthcare in Cherry Hill, NJ. She was a wise, loving, and joyful woman at all times, the first to help and last to complain. She was a caring, understanding, and devoted friend to all who knew her. She loved listening to her oldies while dancing and cooking with her children, something she continued to do with her beloved grandchildren. Laverne was a phenomenal woman that touched everyone and will be deeply missed by all. Laverne is now joined in Heaven with her parents Letitia Dunlap & Leroy Watson, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Laverne leaves to cherish her memories with her children Jessica Dunlap, Edwin Dunlap, Marcus Dunlap, Morgan Watson, and special son Richard “Pooks” Irvin. Her grandchildren Mysiah Fussell, Enzo Dunlap, and 2 on the way. Her sisters Robin Dunlap and Carlotta Bass. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
