Obituary of Lorna Wilson

Please share a memory of Lorna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lorna Winrow Wilson was born in Burlington, NJ on October 15, 1949 to Henry L. Winrow and Ida O. Stokes Winrow. She was 71 when she passed away suddenly on Friday, February 12, 2021, in Willingboro, NJ. She attended Burlington City High School and went on to earn an associate degree in accounting from Burlington County Community College in Mt. Holly, NJ, where she raised her family and was a beloved member of the community. For nearly 25 years, she worked as the office manager for Oaks Integrated Care in Mt. Holly and was employed there until the time of her passing. She previously worked as supervisor for data entry & accounts processor for J. Chein & Company, an American toy manufacturer in Burlington, for 15 years, until the business was sold in 1989. Lorna enjoyed travelling by road and by air to enjoy her favorite places. She had a particular love of old-school music and enjoyed revues and concerts that featured her favorite artists. She was also a loyal and vocal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and counted herself a proud member of the “Steeler Nation.” What many may not know about Lorna was that she was a video gaming dynamo! She started developing her skills in the early 1980s with classic arcade games like Asteroids, PacMan, and Donkey Kong. Her initials could be seen in the high-score position in machines throughout Mt. Holly. She continued to hone her skills with home-based systems and handheld devices that she used to master Super Mario Bros., Angry Birds, Candy Crush and Ms. PacMan. She enjoyed out-scoring her grandchildren on a regular basis. For her grandchildren, she always stressed that their education was the priority, and went above and beyond to show her support for their studies, sporting events and extracurricular activities. Lorna is survived by her loving partner, Joseph Reid, also of Burlington; three children (all Wilsons): Emmanuel, Cassandra, and Willie II (Lisa); five grandchildren (all Wilsons): Taurean, Angel, Willie III, Christina and Joseph; eight siblings: Cranston Winrow, Craig Winrow, Sharon Winrow Danqua, Wendy Winrow, Brewer Winrow, Dawn Winrow, Carla Winrow and Danielle Winrow Ellis; two nephews she helped raise: Jeffrey Wilson and Walter McMillan; longtime friend Hank Small; family friend Steven Webb; former sisters-in-law Maggie Wilson and Thelma Wilson, and many loving colleagues, extended family members and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Obama Foundation (https://www.obama.org/donate/) in her name.
