Alphonso “Herman” Williams Valiant, age 74, of Somerdale, NJ passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Jefferson (formerly Kennedy) Hospital Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was born September 26, 1946 in Polk County, Florida to William James Williams and Beatrice (Chears) Perry. Alphonso was a retired automotive and diesel mechanic. He graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana. He also received his electrician certification from Camden County Technical School in New Jersey. In retirement, he enjoyed serving in his congregation, Hope of Israel (www.hopeofisraelnj.com), by answering the congregational phone. Alphonso is survived by his wife, Kearicia (Jordan) Valiant, daughter Kearicia Avigael Valiant, Jr. and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and other family members. The Memorial Service for Alphonso will be virtual and in-person on Wednesday, March 10, 1:00-2:00 PM (CST) at Fellowship Community Church, 1520 Hainesport-Mount Laurel Road in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The virtual memorial service link is: https://www.fellowshipsj.org/liveevent/ (Everyone will be required to wear a mask and social distance). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Salvation Army.
