A Life Remembered Geraldine Brown Gonzalez the daughter of John Brown and Beatrice Brown was born on March 30, 1927 in Lawnside, NJ. She departed this life to her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Geraldine attended the Lawnside Public School System and received her High School diploma from Haddon Heights High School in Haddon Heights, New Jersey in 1947. She then went on to attend nursing school in Philadelphia and received her nursing certification. After completing her LPN, she worked many years as a nurse. In 1994, she retired from Kateri Nursing Home in New York, where she loved taking care of the Elderly. On December 21, 1963 she married Ralph Gonzalez who proceeded her in death. Geraldine was a member of the New York Chapter of the Eastern Star and would march to the song, “It’s a Highway to Heaven, none can walk up there but the pure and heart”. Geraldine became a member of Mt. Hebron Apostolic Temple where she was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the Holy Ghost. She was a member of the Mother’s board and sang on the Gospel and Women’s choir. In 2010 she attended Joy Temple in New Rochelle, NY until she relocated to Maryland. Mother Geraldine was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will forever be remembered for her love for her family, her kind spirit, humbleness, ever present smile, unwavering faith, and her love for Christ. Mother Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents John and Beatrice Brown; three brothers and two sisters-in-law John Brown (Mable), Elmer Brown, and Walter Brown (Emma); One Brother-in-law Dave Davis; and two grandchildren Holly and Lawrence Jones. Left to cherish many fond memories are her sons Joel Brown (Linda), Vineland, NJ; Kevin Gonzalez (Sandy) Brooklyn, NY; two daughters Gloria Jones (Greg) Vineland, NJ; Angela Ewell (Payton) Salisbury, MD; Three bonus daughters Tracy Adams Sumpter, SC, Anita Luker Bronx, NY, Latonya Lark Savannah, GA Three brothers Robert Brown (Barbara), Ft. Washington, MD; Gerald Brown Toms River, NJ; Allen Brown (Ronda) New York, NY; One sister Mildred Davis Coney Island, NY; Sister-in-law Joyce Fleetwood Lawnside, NJ three grandsons Breyon; Joel, Jr; Kevin, Jr; Five granddaughters Paulette, Mia (Melvin), Cassandra (Michael), Ashley and Tiffany; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
