Elgen Williams “Mom-Mom” Elgen Williams of Glassboro, NJ passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021, in Camden NJ at the age of 73. Elgen was born on July 2, 1947, in Pineview, GA to the late Rev. Eddie Lee Grace and the late Emma Lawrence Grace. At an early age she moved to Glassboro, NJ and she was raised by her grandmother the late Mary Edwards. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Stanley R. Williams of Glassboro, NJ. Her sons Tyrone S. Williams, Jermaine D. Williams, and Dewayne W. Grantham. Her daughter La Toya N. Harmon and her daughters in laws, Christy Williams, Terri Grantham, and her son in law Alonzo Harmon. She is also survived by her brother Steven Brown and predeceased by two brothers Eddie Grace Jr. and Willie James Grace. Three sisters, Mary Davis (Gregory), Charlotte Hart, Stephanie Mack (Al). Her precious grandchildren, Dante Praul (Octavia), Kayla, D’yamante, Alysha, Kiera, Victor, Dominic, Tyrone Jr., Zachariah, Chloe, Nia, Erika, and Dewayne Jr. In addition, she has seven great grandchildren. A host of brother in laws, sister in laws, family and friends. Elgen graduated from Delsea Regional High School, Franklinville NJ in 1965. She then was employed at Columbia/Sony Records, Pitman NJ for over 30 years. After retirement, she worked as a Medical Billing/Coder Technician in Clayton, NJ. She loved all kinds of sports specifically football and her absolute favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Her hobbies include bargain shopping and going to flea markets and dollar stores. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist church for many years and was a member of the choir, the usher board and she worked as the church secretary. She loved her Lord and Savior; her favorite scripture was Psalm 91: 1-16 The Passion Translation. Elgen was a quiet spirited person, BUT! She would read you, your rights if needed. She had many names given to her by her family. One was “Little Rev”, as she had many ways like her father. We also called her the “Sheriff” because she would promptly shut down all family cookouts or events at her home. She was a perfectionist about keeping her house sparkling clean which is a trait she inherited from her mother. On Saturdays she would have her children cleaning all day listening to the same Al Green album. She was the matriarch of our family, and true example of a virtuous woman. She loved her children and grandchildren and would do anything for them. We were blessed by her presence for 74 years. We will miss her tremendously! Now she is in Gods Hands. Until we meet again, WE LOVE YOU!
