Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Keels II was born February 15, 1985, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to Mr. & Mrs. George and Ruth Keels. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. George was the youngest and only son who was raised in a caring & loving home, along with his sisters Kimberly and Georgette. George grew up on Walt Whitman Boulevard, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He attended Horace Mann Elementary School, Henry C. Beck Middle School and graduated from Cherry Hill High School East in 2003. George was very athletic and loved sports. He earned varsity letters and many trophies in basketball beginning his sophomore year where he left his legacy on the walls and in the trophy case. George‘s excellent skills & love of basketball assisted him in being accepted into two Colleges. He spent his first year at Caldwell University before transferring to Richard Stockton University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing in 2007. George accepted his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ at the young age of 6 years old. He was a member at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Magnolia NJ. He attended Sunday school, sang in the children’s youth choir and was an usher. One of the things he enjoyed the most growing up was attending Camp Cedar Knolls. George continued to love the Lord throughout his life. He began his working career at Fiberlink Communication where he was an Outside Sales Retention Specialist. He worked for several companies in the sales industry throughout the years and was last employed at Fooda as a Senior Business Account Manager. George was blessed with two beautiful and amazing sons Greyson “Goose” Phoenix and George “Fat Fat” Jaxon of whom he cherished dearly. George loved to do activities with his kids. You would often find them at the playground, going to the movies, playing video games or other outdoor activities. In addition to being a good father, George was a phenomenal uncle who loved and supported all his nieces and nephews school events and extra-curricular activities. One of his favorite lines to them which was in jest was “….mind your business…that’s all, just mind your business.” He always cheered them on and proudly let them know he wished the best for them. George was an ambitious person and creative thinker. He was always ready for a challenging “debate.” George was an affectionate, giving, selfless man with a charming smile, a big heart who was adored and loved by all family and friends. He loved children and enjoyed volunteering and mentoring at the Girls and Boys Club of America. Among his many passions in life, George was a diehard Eagle’s fan, loved playing golf, should have taken stock in Wawa because he basically lived there, loved Rita’s “mango” water ice, and always looked forward to his mother’s famous steak. He knew he was spoiled as “Mommy Dearest” cooked meals for her beloved son on demand. George leaves to cherish his loving memories forever, his parents George & Ruth Keels of Cherry Hill, NJ; two sons, Greyson Phoenix Keels and George Jaxon Keels of Voorhees, NJ; sister Kimberly Gambrell, Rockaway NJ; sister Georgette Keels, Cherry Hill, NJ; nieces Tajae Keels, Kimberly Nicole Gambrell, Maliyah Harley; nephews Tremayne Blair, Malachi Harley; one grand aunt, Inez Morant, four aunts Emma Jane (Booker Tee) Pitts, Neomia (Isaiah) Covert, Gwendolyn Jones, Thomasena (Levern) Roberts, five uncles Allen Keels, Willie Joseph Keels, Raymond Burroughs, Tyrone(Nelda) Burroughs, Bryant Burroughs; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
