Obituary of Ruth Lynnette Coston

Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ruth Lynette Coston (Nett as she was affectionately called) was born in Camden, NJ to the late Branches Coston (Nee Lindsey) and David Coston Sr. Ruth departed this life on July 14, 2021. Nett obtained her education in the Camden City Public School system. After high school, Nett began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, which lasted 40+ years in a variety of settings, such as skilled nursing, convalescent, assisted living, and palliative just to name a few. Nett learned to love the Lord at an early age when she attended Victory Temple Church of God in Christ. As her love of Christ grew she sought the Lord’s face even more by becoming a Missionary at True Covenant Worship Center. She perfected her craft at Dunamis Life Church, where she became the Pastor’s Aide leader. Nett was very passionate about everything she did. She loved decorating, taking care of people with compassion in her heart. She wanted to always leave a smile on your face whenever she could. Nett also had many hobbies. She learned and developed skills in sewing, and being self-taught, she learned how to read sewing instructions and how to put garments together. She also liked to cook, her specialty being rice pudding (RICE-A-PUDDING). Last but not least her love of a well-made handbag, two of her favorite designers being Louis Vuitton and Henri Bendel always graced her arm. Everyone knows if you received a bag or wallet from her it was never empty, as that was her way of showing you how much she cared. Nett’s love for her children was the purest love a mother could have. She was always front and center for every aspect of their lives. If you mess with Nett's kids please be ready to fight. When she became a grandmother the love naturally extended to them. She was always supportive of whatever they were doing, and when events occurred like graduation, recitals, birthday parties, and different school events she was always front and center. Nett was also wanting and willing to be the financial backer, the listening ear, and a kind smile for them all whenever they needed her. Ruth (Nett) was preceded in death by her Parents Branches Coston and David Coston Sr. Brother: Westley Coston, Son: Jonathan Bettis Jr, Godson: NaKeith Selby, and Friend: Lucille Bettis. She leaves to mourn her passing Children: Eugenia Bettis, Jonnette Bettis-Jones (Romaine), Jonathan Bettis II, Karolynn Grays. Grandchildren: De’lier, Ja’yonnah, Jon’asia, Jyarah, Jayceon, Emerson, Javian, and Jonathan III. Siblings: Eugenia Wilcox, Lois Butler, Bruce Coston, Juanita Coston, and David Coston Jr. Godchildren: Antoinette Coston, Antoinette Wallace, and Harmony Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
