Obituary of Barbara Johnson

Barbara Andrea Johnson was born on October 7, 1957 in Brunswick Ga. to Ethel & Melvin Bryant. In her early years, her family moved to Camden, New Jersey where she attended the Camden Public School System and received her High School Diploma from Camden High School in 1975. Barbara was very versatile in the work field and had jobs in the healthcare field as well as in the banking field. She enjoyed very much working with people to make their lives better. She was a strong, gentle and fun loving person. Barbara had four children with Lewis Edwards during this time, Tangela, Deja, Lamont & Lameka. Barbra returned to Brunswick Ga, in 1995. During that time she met and married her husband, Jimmy Johnson. Barbara loved to shop, while she was able to do so, you could always find her in a store, but when she was no longer able to shop in the stores that did not stop her QVC was her new found friend. Barbara even started making her own jewelry for a little while and it was beautiful. She was very talented in the many things she did. When you think of Barbara you have to think about her rice crispy treats and her captain crunch cereal, she really loved those too. Barbara loved the Lord and loved her children very much. She was an active member of the Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick Ga. before she became bedridden. She really loved the Lord and knew him as her personal savior and remained a devoted member and loved her church family dearly. Her mother, Ethel, prayers was answered when Barbara was able to return to New Jersey in April of 2021, where she resided with her son, Lamont and his family. On August 18, 2021 Barbara answered the call of her heavenly Father and went home to be with the Lord. She passed away comfortably with her son by her side. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Bryant. She is survived by her Mother, Ethel Bryant, sisters Cheryl Parker, Doris Lewis (Alfonso), Carla Seabreeze, Donna McCalop and her brother Darren. Children Tangela N. Edwards, Deja U. Edwards, Lamont A. Edwards (Fiance Kieyonia Hunley), Lameka S. Edwards, Lewis E. Edwards, Jr. (Affectionately known as her son). Barbara also leaves to cherish her memories 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her loving Aunt (Haydee Dukes), and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
