Obituary of Clarence Dixon

Obituary Clarence W. Dixon was born on July 25, 1949, in Delair (Morrisville), NJ, to the late James and Juanita Dixon. He was the second of 10 children. On the morning of September 2, Clarence passed away peacefully at home with an abundance of family by his side. Clarence received his education through the Pennsauken School District and was a lifelong resident of Delair. “Pic” or “Piccolo”, as he was affectionately known by friends and family, had a great love for cars and could always be found racing his Bumblebee around town. His admiration for cars led him to become a great mechanic and teacher to anyone in need of his help. As a young man, Piccolo developed a love for baseball and even played in several Black leagues including the Soul Brothers of Pennsauken. Following in his father’s work ethic, he worked for Parisi Recycling for almost 50 years and would be well known as “Rusty Jones” by his boss Louis Parisi. Clarence may have had a love for many things, but what he loved most of all was his family. In his early years, Piccolo was approached by a beautiful young woman who was determined to make him hers, and she did just that. Being true to love at first sight, she would tell him that he gave her butterflies, for which she whispered to him “you still give me butterflies” in his final moments. Piccolo and Carla (Mae) would go on inseparably for almost 50 loving years together and from this union came two daughters Carlena and Chakiya (Chy), 3 granddaughters, Milan, Torri, and Ma’Lashia and a great grandson Ryan. Piccolo or “Pop-Pop” in his later years would look forward to birthdays, holidays, and spur of the moment visits as a means to spoil his grandkids. He enjoyed bringing laughter to the kids and anyone else around. If you knew Piccolo, you knew he loved to joke. As he would always say, “Pimpin’ ain’t easy!”. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory; the devoted love of his life Carla Booker; his two daughters Carlena and Chakiya; his brothers James (Julie), Richard, and Dave; sisters Dianna, Juanita, and Angelina (Hampton); granddaughters Milan, Torri and Ma’Lashia; One great grandson Ryan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
