Celebration of Life
Linda Myra Booker was born on June 17, 1959, in Mount Holly, NJ, to the late Stewart and Annabel Booker. She was the second of five daughters. On the evening of September 7, 2021, God called her home while surrounded by her loving family. Linda received her education through the Cinnaminson School District and was a lifelong resident of Cinnaminson/Palmyra. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Jacob’s Chapel in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and a former member of Second Baptist in Moorestown, NJ. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Lucas Booker, and brother-in-law, Clarence “Pic” Dixon.
In her younger years, Linda could be found down at Atco racing her car, where she won her first championship. Later, she developed a love for fishing, where she enjoyed her early morning boat trips with the fellas, creating memories and catching fish. However, her main passion was cooking, and her dream was to open up her own restaurant. In the neighborhood, everyone loved her cooking and knew they could always rely on her for a hot meal whenever they were needed. Her passion for cooking led her to a career of over 25 years in the culinary arts, working at various hospitals such as West Jersey Hospital-Camden, West Jersey Hospital-Voorhees, and Zurbrugg Hospital-Riverside. During her career, Linda would go on to receive many accolades and recognitions for her hard work and achievements.
In addition to all of her accomplishments, her greatest would be becoming a mother to Jason, Janice (Loopy), Myron, Linda (Lindy). Linda was a dedicated single mom known for her tough love and huge heart, making especially sure birthdays and Christmases were always a celebration that they would remember. In later years, Linda would continue her tough love and affection with her grandkids. She proudly would tell them to call her “Madea,“ a title she wore with honor.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory: her four sisters, Carla, Lisa-Jo, Janice, and Sandra; children, Jason, Janice (Loopy), Myron, Lindy; grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob, Koraan, Kylie, Harold (Tre), Adonis, Elijah, Alex, Caleb, Briella, Chase, and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
