Obituary of Rhoda Blocker

Rhoda Ann Blocker of Camden, New Jersey passed away on October 11, 2021. She was born March 25, 1950 in Weymouth, New Jersey to the late Elias Sr. and Agnes (Knights) Lawton. She graduated from Oakcrest High School, Class of 1968.
Rhoda received her cosmetology license from Tucson Beauty College in 1976 and worked several decades as a beautician in Camden, NJ. Later in life, she became a certified home health aide working with the senior population. She was beloved by all her clients who were more than just clients, they were her friends. She enjoyed both professions up until her untimely passing.
She was preceded in death by her only granddaughter, Taliah M. Little; and by siblings, Elias Lawton, Jr. and Cassandra James; and longtime companion, Greg Wyche.
Rhoda was the matriarch of her family and always provided a helping hand to those in need. She was a loving mother of three daughters, Cheryl Blocker-Cappelletti (Michael) of Haddonfield, Felicia Marek (Jiri) of Pennsauken, and Angela Blocker of New York, NY.
Rhoda was a devoted great-grandmother to Jaden Little, Brenna Rembert, and Brent Rembert, Jr. and to grandson Joshua Marek.
She is survived by siblings Clarence Lawton, Luella Lawton, James Lawton, Lillie Lawton, and Carolyn Adams. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, sister/brother-in-laws, and close friends.
Rhoda will be truly missed by all who knew her.
