With the peace and grace that exceeds our understanding The Lord touched our Dear Susan Harris on November 15, 2021 and extended passage to her everlasting home. Susan Harris was born to the late Robert Evans, Sr. and Maggie Evans on January 22, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA. She was one of nine children, and was an active participant in a loving family. During Susan’s childhood she was baptized at her family church, Second Antioch Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA by longtime family friend and pastor, Rev. Davis DeBrady. Susan met the love of her life and married the late William Harris, Sr. of Magnolia, NJ, on August 3, 1963. Of that union three children were born, William J. Harris Jr., Robert M. Harris (Karen), Dawn M. Harris (Paul). Susan was a full time mother, wife, daughter, and sister while at the same time establishing a successful professional career. Susan joined Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Lawnside, NJ. Mt. Zion was the oasis for Susan to experience spirituality and interact with many friends and family members. She enjoyed being part of the Mt. Zion Gospel Choir, Mt. Zion United Methodist Women, and as a former Staff Pastor Parish Member. At the time of her passing Susan had been a member of Mt Zion for almost 50 years. She worked as a Procurement Supervisor for the U.S. Federal Government, Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency, Troop Support, Robbins Ave., Phila., PA. Susan received many accolades for her work, one of which was being honored with a “Positive Leadership Award” that recognized her positive style of leadership and impact on those in her department. At her retirement celebration in 2010 Susan was honored by the Department of Defense for her 40 years of service and commitment. Her hobbies were shopping, interior decorating, collecting copper cookware, and “Grandmothering.” She archived an expansive collection of copper cookware and serving items. She was quite proud of her collection and displayed it in her chef’s kitchen. She was also proud of her grandchildren and interactions in their lives. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren: 5 Grandchildren: Danielle, Tiara, Bobby, Skylar, and Justin; and 7 Great Grandchildren: Teron, Sophie, Tristan, Telea, Emersyn, Tianna and Tamia.
