Obituary of Mable Harris

Please share a memory of Mable to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Christian A. Pemberton was born to Ronald George Pemberton and Maria Eglantine Pemberton on April 3, 1954, at Alexander Hospital in Charlestown, Nevis. He departed from this earth on January 21, 2022.  As a child, Christian enjoyed learning and demonstrating what he had learned in school.  He was raised in a God-fearing home with 9 brothers and 2 sisters. He accepted Christ at a young age and studied the bible until his passing. He has served God in various capacities throughout his life on earth.   Christian loved learning and excelled in school. He graduated from Basseterre High School in 1974. In 1977, he made the decision to come to the United States to further his education. He graduated with honors from Gloucester County College, in 1979 and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) in 1981.  He did not stop there.  In 1986, Christian graduated with honors from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden.  While still working a full-time job at Cigna, in 1987, he started his very own law practice in his home.  His practice grew quickly and shortly he moved into his office space, where his practice currently resides in Sicklerville, New Jersey.  Christian dedicated his life to his work and helping those who were in need and had a heart to serve those who were often underrepresented. He remained true to his belief to work and provide work in the community he resided in.  He rarely took a vacation and worked tirelessly to provide the best legal service to his clients.   On November 11, 1978, Christian met the love of his life, Valerie B. Pemberton.  The two dated and were married on February 23, 1980.  Out of this union, three children were born:  Christi Pemberton (East Brunswick, NJ), Joslyn Pemberton (Piscataway, NJ), and Maraud Pemberton (Tampa, Fl.).   Christian’s work ethic was incredible, however, there were three things he loved to do and would take time from the office to do:  Play and watch cricket, garden, and later in life spend time with his grandchildren (Mikayla and Jayden).  Those who know him, know that he always maintained a serious demeanor, but Mikayla and Jayden brought him newfound joy and laughter.  Christian is predeceased by his father and mother, Ronald and Maria Pemberton, brothers, Hugh, Ira, James Pemberton, and his sister Delores Pemberton. His brother Godfrey Browne passed away a day after Christian on January 22, 2022.  Christian is survived by his three children, Christi, Joslyn (Troyshon Phillips), and Maraud Pemberton. He also leaves behind four grandchildren who loved him dearly: Mikayla Hall, Jayden Pemberton, Solace, and Ty'shon Phillips. He also leaves to mourn his sister, Esther Pemberton, and five brothers: Pastor Eversley Pemberton, Melville, Don, Paul, and Glenn Pemberton, four sisters-in-law: Carleen, Pamella, and Carolyn Pemberton Shirley Pemberton, many nieces and nephews, cousins, brothers in Christ, friends, cricket teammates and colleagues. Sorrowfully submitted, The Pembertons
