LTC (R) Bowens was always very kind to me; even the last time I spoke with him in 2017. He was a wonderful man. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.

This is my memory to the family of Evont Bowen"s.
I would come to the house for a visit, he was as kind to me as anyone. he would want me to sit ad share stories and I would listen when he shared stories. His wife Lois, Evont and I would laugh. I enjoyed my visits with him and his wife. His family of who I met were the perfect family, they were respectful kind, thoughtful and loving people.
I visited Evont and his family for two years. I was to see that he was comfortable. Most of the time he was. He rarely complained about anything. All he wanted to do was talk. He enjoyed people and his family. With covid, it was hard for him to see all of his family. I know he cherished them when he did see them.
I can say so much more but what I do want to say is that I love his family and him. God will protect him and keep him safe.

Pop Pop had one of the most genuine laughs. It was contagious. He also made the best cinnamon tea, pancakes, and homemade punch. We will miss him greatly.
