Obituary of Dorothy J Bailey

Dorothy Jean Bailey of Glassboro New Jersey left this world to return to her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2022. She was born on May 29th, 1944, in Crisp County, Georgia to Samuel Brown, Sr. and Marie Brown. After the passing of her mother, she moved to New Jersey to live with family. While growing up she received her education from Delsea Regional High School and graduated in 1962. Dorothy married George Bailey, Sr. and together they raised two children Jennifer and George Bailey, Jr.  Dorothy was a lifelong devoted Christian. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Glassboro, New Jersey. During her years at Mt. Zion, she served on the usher board and the choir for many years. Later she moved to St Mathews Baptist Church in Williamstown New Jersey where she worshipped for the rest of her life. Dorothy worked as a nurse’s aide for a short period of time then changed careers and decided to work at Sony Music for over 25 years. After she retired, she became a foster mother to many children. Dorothy enjoyed helping children who were in need of a loving home. Her greatest joys in life were to go to church, to read her bible, and spread the word of the Lord. She was a real people person with a beautiful heart. Traveling to Georgia to visit her family and taking vacations trips were also things she enjoyed doing in the summertime. Dorothy loved to cook and even more being around her children, grandchildren, and friends. Dorothy was loved by all "To know her was to love her". Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Brown, Sr. and Marie Brown and her brother, Samuel Brown, Jr. She leaves behind her daughter Jennifer Johnson, son-in-law Thomas Johnson Sr and son George Bailey, Jr., Kaneshia Lindsey, Namia Lindsey, Davonte Lindsey and Jordan Wilson. Her grandchildren: Tameka Scott, Tenia Scott, Christopher Scott, Xavier Bailey and Tiffanee Dupree, Patience Johnson, and Thomas Johnson, Jr. Her great-grandchildren: Sincere, Shamar, Serenity, King, Grace, and Isaiah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
