She was educated in Lawnside Public School and graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1949. Willa was an avid softball player; she enjoyed roller skating and going to Atlantic City and Wildwood. She attended Grace Temple Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served the Lord in other capacities. On October 19, 1950, she joined in holy matrimony with Lawrence Lynn Pitts, Sr.  This union was blessed with ten children. Although this kept her very busy, she always found time for tennis and shopping with her sister, Louise, and then hid the bags from Lawrence. The family was an integral part of her life. She always made time for family reunions and special outings to keep this family together.    Willa loved gospel music. She loved listening to old recordings of her husband and other family members. Some of her favorites were “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and “If I Can Help Somebody.” She also loved "The Battle is Not Yours, It's the Lords" by Yolanda Adams.   Shortly after that, she joined her husband in worship at Mt. Pisgah AME Church. She served on the Stewardess Board, was a member of the Celestial Choir, and Voices of Pisgah until health challenges prevented her from doing so. She also served as a member of the Eastern Stars and was still a member of the VFW. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
