Obituary of Samuel Rojas

Samuel Rojas age 82 of Camden NJ passed away March 31, 2022. Survived by his wife Margarita Estevez of 19 years. Samuel was the 6th of 9 children. He is also survived by 4 siblings 3 children Urenia Rojas, Samuel Rojas and Bezaleel Rojas. He leaves behind 3 stepchildren, Nancy, Jessica and Jonathan that knew him as Papa’. Throughout his life Samuel enjoyed the love of 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jonathan remembers learning to play the piano with Samuel. Born in the Dominican Republic he migrated to the United States in the Early 60’s. The first years in the US he worked as an assistant for a dental office. As he began to acclimate to this new country, he found his calling in construction. He was well known for employing and training many people throughout his 60 plus years of continued influence in every community that he was part of. Born to devout Christian parents he studied at Instituto Evangelico de Santiago. He taught himself to play the piano in order to enhance the worship experience in church where he loved to sing. Samuel loved bowling and was a bowling league member. In the city of Camden Samuel was known as a dedicated man to his community. He was a founding member of the 1st Hispanic church in Camden on State Street. He was known for helping immigrant families and young men obtain housing and develop financial independence. Samuel’s legacy as a man of service will live on. He lived in service to his Savior, Jesus Christ, in service to his community, he trained generation after generation of young people resulting in the deep effect to his community which will continue to flourish in the lives of many generations.
