Obituary of Angielee C Harris

Please share a memory of Angielee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Angielee Cecelia White Harris, affectionally known as “Angie” was born in Halifax County (Denville), Virginia on January 9, 1939 to Gracie & Fredrick White. After a brief illness, she transitioned to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2022, with daughters, Vanessa and Lynette by her side. At the early age of 3 years old, Angie’s parents moved to Camden, New Jersey. Educated in Camden public schools, Angie graduated from Camden High School in 1958. As a child, Angie attended church regularly with her babysitter Mrs. Annie Freeman; they were usually in church ALL DAY Sunday and attended numerous services in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area as well. At 16 years of age, Angie was baptized and joined the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Camden, NJ. Years later, she and her girls, Vanessa and Lynette, joined the Antioch Baptist Church also in Camden, where the Rev. Rufus McClendon was Pastor. From that very early age, until she took her last breath, her faith and love for the Lord never waned or faltered. When Lynette joined the Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Homer M. Thompson, Angie followed. After joining, and under the stewardship of Rev. William L. Elliott, Jr., Angie served in the Pastor’s Aide ministry. Once retired, Angie chose to visit various churches in the South Jersey area with “her Ness”; frequently visiting Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, NJ where Lynette is an active member. Pre-COVID, Angie enjoyed attending TBC, and during the pandemic, dialed in daily for the morning “Prayer Call”. She’s often shared, that “It has been an uplifting journey; To God Be the Glory!” Preceded in death by her parents Fredrick White and Gracie Adkins, and step-father Melester Adkins, Angie leaves to cherish her memory, two devoted and loving daughters, Vanessa (Pennsauken, NJ) and Lynette (Westampton, NJ), her favorite Son In Love, Ephraim Cook, her favorite “soon to be” Son In Love, Michael Love (Mays Landing, NJ), special adoptive daughters, Linda McNeil (Egg Harbor, NJ) and Sherill Cantrell (Franklin Park, NJ) and cousins Willie and Matt Stewart (Philadelphia, PA). Being such a sweet, sweet spirit, “Mom Angie” also leaves to mourn a host of others who loved her simply as Vanessa and Lynette’s beloved mother.
