To Angie and the family,
Ron was not just a good friend, he was my mentor who shared a passion for helping community college trustees be the best they could be. The help he provided others in pursuit of that passion is his legacy, and that legacy will live on in those of us who knew him.
We share with the family in their grief. Our grief will not end, but it will change. It's like a passage and not a place to stay. It is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is simply the price of love.
I will miss my dear friend, but grateful for the wonderful memories of the times we shared together.

I knew Ron as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BCC during the years I served as Special Assistant to the President, Dr. Messina. During that time I had the great privilege of working with Ron on many issues one of which was a national award from the Association of American Community Colleges which Dr. Messina subsequently received. Ron was very, very proud of that. What I most enjoyed about Ron was his other centeredness and his care for students which he so wonderfully articulated in every conversation with him. He touched many lives with his kindness, his compassion for all people as well as his generosity and self-sacrifice. To his family, take comfort in knowing that someone so special as Ron will never be forgotten. You will no doubt treasure the time that you were together and are comforted by the gratitude of knowing that his was a life well lived and richly enjoyed.
