OBITUARY Robert Wilcox Sr. affectionately known as “Uncle Bob” was born in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late Adam and Florene (Brown) Wilcox on November 26, 1931. He was educated in the Woodbury New Jersey School System. He then became a plumber by trade and later became a Master Plumber, gaining certificates and awards, until he became ill. However he still supervised plumbing jobs. Robert married the late Ruth Bryant Wilcox and they were blessed with four children, Robert Jr., Selina, Andrew Sr., Denita and also had two sons from a previous relationship. In 1988he married the late Yvonne Pugh Wilcox. Robert was a faithful and devoted member of Holy Trinity COGIC) now New Heart Church Inc. in Woodbury, New Jersey where he served on the Trustee Board and as Deacon. Whenever there was a plumbing problem at the church, he could be counted on to take care of it. Although he was not active in the church in his later years he shared the love of God with others by serving their needs. His Spiritual gift was a Giver; he gave of his time, his love, his money and his knowledge. He was always willing to help someone, anyone who needed his help. Bobby was a kind person who loved his family and was adored by all who were blessed to know and meet him. Uncle Bob loved antiques, loved to travel, loved to do word search puzzles, read the newspaper and he especially loved to eat out. He knew where the best restaurants were and would treat anyone to a good meal. Robert was preceded in death by his sisters: Sarah, Beatrice, Isabella (Bella), Elizabeth (Betty), Ivy, Shirley and brothers Willis, Adam Jr., Moses, Leonard and Charles Edward. Robert leaves to cherish his memory four children; Robert Jr., (Carol), Selina, Andrew Sr., (Jacqueline), Denita. Ten grandchildren: Stanley, Tameka. Ida, Shawn, Tawanda Battles, Andrew Jr., Aaron, Rachel, Tiana, Tiara, one brother Warren, Sr. (Robin), three sisters: Dorothy, Esther , and Christine, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention. We shall remember our beloved Deacon Robert Wilcox, as a family matriarch a gentle spirit and kind and generous person who loved his family, his church and friends. We praise God for he loved him best and has called him home to eternal rest. Sorrowfully Submitted the Family
