Marva Lynn Scott was born on December 5, 1967 in Camden, New Jersey, to Eartha Lee Scott and John Vincent Scott Marva attended Camden Public School system and graduated with her diploma in 1985. Marva was an active child growing up in Camden. She enjoyed a good double-dutch competition, card games, horseshoes, ice skating, paddle ball and most importantly, hanging out with family and friends. Marva learned early in life that she truly enjoyed being in the presence of children. With her knowledge, tenacity and determination, she opened her own childcare business in 2006 which she continued for 13 years. She was an amazing educator. Marva was kindhearted and loving. She was always there to lend a helping hand. She had an infectious sense of humor, always laughing and enjoyed dancing and watching dance videos. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and she was not afraid to show it. No matter who your sports team was you were going to know about those Steelers. In 1987, Marva met the love of her life the late Harvey Erick Bell. They married in 1994 and together raised and loved their 5 children. They were together for 34 years until his passing on July 8, 2022. Marva was an amazing supportive mother and grandmother who was always there when her children needed her no matter what. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and watching them grow. She was loved dearly by her family and those who knew her well. Marva Lynn Bell sadly passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the age of 55 and is reunited with the love of her life the late Harvey Erick Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eartha Lee Scott and John Vincent Scott; sister, Shirley Denise Washington; daughter, Shirley Denise Bell, and godson, Robert Joshua Chestnut (Bub). Marva is survived by her sisters: Cynthia Chestnut, Mildred (Claude) Harris, Tammy Vega, and Alicia Scott. Her beautiful children, Shalonda (Cameron) Morton, Melissa (Jamar) Brown, Derrick R (Atiya) Parks, and Erick R. Parks. Her Ten grandchildren, Ny’Asia, Nasir, Ke’Aira, De’Eriq, Tamya, Raele, Jaelynn, Kamryn, Chase and Jamar Jr. (Poppa); father-in-law, Harvey Wilson; three brothers- in-law, Demetrius (Charleen) Bell, Norman Townsend, and Alford Washington; two sister-in-laws, Tanya Davis and Annetta (Vasco) Anderson; two very special friends, Tommy and Willa Davis, and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
