Alambey Ibn Byrd, Sr. 59, of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, transitioned on May 21, 2023, enjoying last days with his family while in the hospital. Byrd was born on December 10, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Constance Crippen and Levin Byrd. Byrd was a graduate of William Penn High School. He enjoyed playing the drums. He worked for the Philadelphia School Police and loved working with children. He also did some bounty hunting work. He retired from the Philadelphia School Police Systems once he became ill. He enjoyed quiet time away with the dogs. He enjoyed browsing the internet, listening to his favorite artist Prince, some jazz but he especially loved facetime moments with his grandson Luka-Luke. He loved his Philadelphia Eagles (GO BIRDS!) and we can’t forget his dog children Swirl and Cheyenne and Beasley. Byrd is survived by his Fiance’ Tamika Benson, 1 daughter Amira Byrd, 1 son Alambey Byrd, Jr. 3 Stepdaughters La-Donaya and Ebony Benson, Tiffany Pilot, 1 Stepson Jeremy Benson, 1 Grandaughter NiJirah Byrd, 3 grandson Luka Logan, Lexington Pierce, 20 Stepgrandchildren, 3 Great Grands, and 1 only brother Levi (Rafik) Crippen, 1 Sister Patricia Abner, 2 Nieces Iesha and Candisha Crippen, 2 God-Daughters Ashley Barnes and Angeliue Crawford, 2 Childhood friends Roxanne Smith and Robert Brunson and a host of close friends and relatives.
