Obituary of Paul A. Bryant

Paul Allen Bryant, a longtime resident of Somerset New Jersey, died Tuesday the 13th of June 2023, peacefully in his sleep, at his current home in Willingboro, NJ. Born on August 23, 1932, in Conway, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Jake Bryant and Ruth Chestnut Bryant. He was educated by the Tabor City public school system. He was later married to the late, Carlis M. Myers on December 27, 1952. He was a devoted husband of 67 years, and they had 4 children: Kenneth A. Bryant (deceased), Alton B. Bryant (deceased), Faye M. Satcher (Gary), Paula S. Walker. Paul was a devoted father and friend to all he encountered. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Franklin Township for many years. He worked as a mechanic for the Big ‘T’ Trucking Company and Freedman Motor Company in Edison, NJ until his retirement in 1978. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 701, in North Brunswick Township, NJ. Paul was stricken with polio at a very young age, during which time there was no cure. He was given the mind and strived to be the best he could be. With that mindset, he achieved all the goals he set for himself. Although all odds were against him, he went above and beyond for himself and his family. He was a determined man and strongly believed in working hard and taking care of his responsibilities. Paul became an excellent provider for his family. He a was very outgoing and outspoken man. Paul was very knowledgeable and wise. He loved spending time with his family and friends and sincerely tried to encourage all his loved ones to be their very best. His favorite pastime was playing cards with his friends. He is survived by his 2 daughters, 1son in law, 3 grandchildren. Kenneth R. Walker, Jr., Kimberly R. Walker, and Kristal R. Walker; 2 great grandchildren Mone’ G. Walker and Uri I. Walker; brother Harry Livingston. A host of loving nieces, nephews, and family members.
