Obituary of Harper E Quary

Harper Everton Quary (Creary) Obituary Harper Everton Creary was born on November 19, 1956 to Anthony “Tommy” Creary and the late Esme Hibbert in the Prospect District of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Many of his childhood years were spent in Mizpah District and Glengoffe, St Catherine with his paternal grandmother, Theresa Marriott. In the pursuit of greater opportunities, he migrated to the United States in the mid-1970s to join his mother in Camden, NJ. Harper’s interest in engineering led him to spend a year at Camden County Technical School; however, he later set his sights on entrepreneurship. For several years, he owned and operated a convenience store located on Thurman and Newport streets in Camden until he chose to return to Jamaica to live a modest Rastafarian lifestyle. Harper, known to many as, ‘Crow”, was very mild mannered, loving, and caring with a big heart. He was best known for his signature laugh and “one-foot-out” stance. Most people would say they never saw him angry and that he was a quiet man who always sat and observed everything. Harper was sixty-six (66) years old when he died unexpectedly on May 22, 2023 in Kingston, Jamaica. He was predeceased by his mother, Esme and brother, Noel. His memory will forever be cherished by his loving father Anthony (Zelpha); brothers Roy, Dean, and Shawn (Marianne); children Jamila, Shaniece (Luis), Harper Jr., Saquain, Alexia, Damar, and Jahziel; five precious grandchildren; and a multitude of caring family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.
