Obituary of Sharon Alford

The sun rose on Sharon Alford Young on September 23rd, 1961, to the late Dan Alford and Geneva Hunt Alford. On August 10th, 2023, Sharon received her wings. Sharon was one of twelve children. Preceding her in death; her son’s Shaiheen Griggs and Theodore “Manny” Young Jr., her sister’s Diane “Dottie” Dupree and Evelyn “Taboo” Alford. Sharon was educated in the Camden City Public School System. Sharon worked for many years as a Housekeeper. Sharon LOVED her music. She was known to have a boom box with multiple cassette tapes and CD’S. Sharon loved a good Anita Baker, R. Kelly, and Babyface album. Sharon loved playing spades, pokeno, and having huge backyard barbecues. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by many. Sharon leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband/best friend of over 40 years, Theodore “Teddy” Young Sr.; her sons whom she cherished; Fred “Chalie” Alford (Vinnika Alford), Tony Alford and Tarrell Alford. Her siblings, Delores Dupree (Johnnie), Cora Alford (Fernandus Ellis), Leome Blanton, Danny Alford (Patricia), Cynthia Alford, Derek Alford (Melissa), Denise LeFlore (Reggie), Darren Alford, and Cordaro Harris. Brothers-in-law, Albert Young III, James Young (Gwendolyn), and Leroy Young (Shirlene). Sisters-in-law, Shirley Watkins (Henry), Kathleen Young, and Darlene Young. Her grandchildren, Shalia, Emory, Jayden, Ashton, Landin, Shainae, Taliah, Tony, Shaiheen, Dejanae, Nasere, Eunique, London, Alani, Za’Mier, and Z’Nai. Her great grandchildren, Azarya and Asaiah. A special niece, Deidra Alford Medley. Special friends, Jackie Scott, and Dee Smith Johnson. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
