Cora M. Long Obituary

Cora Minerva Hicks was born February 16, 1936 at home to Herbert Grant Hicks Sr. and Lillian Hicks


She attended St. Bartholmew Catholic School System, graduated from OEO trade school, where she was later employed with the City of Camden Housing Authority until her retirement.


On September 5, 1964, married Charles A. Long until his death in 2018. She also was a member at Antioch Baptist Church, Church of God Saint of Christ Tab 2 and later joined Parkside United Methodist Church with her daughter Robin and Family. She was a strong Soldier for the Lord spreading his word everywhere she went.


She devoted her life serving others and befriended all whom she encountered. She loved making people smile with her beautiful warm smile and laughter and a comical spirit.


She leaves behind to Cherish her memories, son Charles A. Long, daughters Geraldine Long, and Robin Rembert (David), granddaughters Dawn Gorden, Aneesah Long, Gabrille Woods and Grandsons David Rembert, Omar Simpson, Ryan Rembert, Brandon Rembert and Great Granddaughters Tatyana Gorden, Taiya Gorden, Kyri Rembert, Ahmani, and Journey, Great Grandsons, Ronald Johns, Tijeer , Ahmad, BJ, and 1 great-great granddaughter Dior Hardwick. And a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly as her own.


She was preceded by all of her siblings, Herbert, Peggy, Evelyn, Betty, Hattie, Geraldine, Charles and Lawrence.


Her last wish was that that you treat yourself to a great dinner and tip the Hostess above and beyond because she loved food, and fun and love watching people surprise with her big tips! In Lieu of flowers please donate to your local food bank.
