His Life Story:

The sun rose on Tony Alford on May 22nd, 1980, in Camden, New Jersey to the late Anthony Griggs and Sharon Alford. Tony was one of seven children.

On Monday, May 6th, 2024, Tony departed this life and received his wings.

Tony was educated in the Camden City Public School System. Tony worked alongside his brother at The Philadelphia Sign Company. Prior to becoming unable to work in 2012.

Tony LOVED the Philadelphia Eagles. He was known to call his family on Sunday’s and “taunt” them about the game. When not watching sports, Tony could be found listening to music and playing his game. Most importantly, Tony loved talking on the phone with his family. 

Tony was a loving father, brother, uncle, & friend. He will be missed.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, Shaiheen Griggs and Theodore “Manny” Young Jr. Grandparents, Dan Alford, Geneva Hunt Alford, Thornton Griggs, & Phyllis Griggs. Aunts, Dottie” Dupree and Evelyn “Taboo” Alford. 

Tony leaves to cherish his fond memories: his loving stepfather Theodore “Teddy” Young Sr.; his children whom he cherished; Taliah Alford, Tony

Alford Jr., Shaiheem Alford, and Dejanae Bloodworth. 

His siblings Fred “Chalie” Alford (Nika Alford), Tarrell Alford, Shree Griggs and Dr. Jenaya Ingram. His grandchildren Asaiah and Azarya. 

His aunts and uncles, Delores Dupree (Johnnie), Cora Alford, Leome Blanton, Dannie Alford, Cynthia Alford, Denise LeFlore (Reggie), Toni (Earl) Constance "Connie," Phylis "Joy," Shawn, Rita, Monica, Derek Alford, Darren Alford, Cordaro Harris, Andrew “Bobby" Tau (Haidera), Fredrick "Phil” (Avis), Eric “Rickey", Jeffrey (Kia), Paul "Dee” (Misti), Dontay (Chantel), Devon, Javonne, Terrel. 

His nieces and nephews who he adored, Shalia, Emory, Jayden, Ashton, Landin, Shainae, Nasere, Unique, London, Alani, Za’Mier, Z’Nai, Taije, Tajir, Taryn, and Tarie. His Goddaughter, Tanji and a host of cousins and friends.
