My life’s Story “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7) On Thursday, May 23, 2024, Carrie Bell McNair departed this life peacefully in her sleep with her husband Robert by her side. Carrie was born on Sept. 10, 1940, to the late Sylvester Bell and the late Mamie Lee Ingram, in Fort Pierce Florida. After her mother remarried, she moved to Millen, Georgia with her mother and stepfather, the late Willie Smith. As the eldest child, Carrie affecYonately grew up in the south with her siblings; Pauline Benne[ (Georgia), Marie Russell (Delaware), Ida Mae Rose (Georgia), Vera Nell Smith (Georgia), John Smith Jr. (N. Carolina), Sydney Smith (Deceased), Paul Bell (Deceased), Earnestein Watson (Deceased), Willie Mae Smith Deceased), Jimmy King (Deceased), Earnest Edward Smith (Deceased), and Shirley Jean Gallimore (Deceased). After completing her education, Carrie outgrew the south and moved to Bridgeton NJ to explore more of what life had to offer. Here, is where she met and married the love of her life, Robert Lee McNair. They were married for 60 plus years and from this union one son, Jimmy Lee McNair was born. Carrie worked many odd jobs and loved helping others also get bank by driving them to work. She loved to spend time at home taking care of her family. She also loved spending Yme with her nieces and nephews. She would brag about all of their success and achievements any chance she got. In her eyes, they could do no wrong. Eventually, Carrie was able to enjoy three grand kids whom she loved very much. In the 1990’s, Carrie gave her life to Christ and joined St. John Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Cutris Jerkins. Carrie loved her church and served as a faithful memberunYl she departed this life. Carrie leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband Robert Lee McNair (Bridgeton) son, Jimmy Lee McNair/ Rocio (Millville, NJ) grandchildren; Jimmy McNair Jr, Eliyanah McNair and Jaiden McNair (Millville, NJ). She also leaves behind her siblings; Pauline Benne[ (Georgia), Marie Russell (Delaware), Ida Mae Rose (Georgia), Vera Nell Smith (Georgia) and John Smith Jr. (Carolina).
