Hearing that Zelda has passed away, really hit all of us in the Overton family very hard. Our mom Elizabeth was Zelda's aunt. Our sister Willie Mae kept in touch with Zelda as they talked about some memories from Elizabeth City and Zelda had an open invite for family to visit her in NJ. She really enjoyed talking about where she lived and how much she enjoyed the little things in life. But family meant so much to her. She will truly be missed by us all. We offer our condolences to her family and friends, as well as pray that they are comforted.

The foundation of my parents and the foundation of my upbringing, I know I made you proud, now feel me as I transform, thank you for your wisdom, thank you for your humor and even your criticism because Iron sharpens Iron, and I am ready to go for it all. - Lydia

My Fondest memory of Mom Zelda was back when I was 16 years old. I was wandering the streets of Camden and she found me and she brought me in her house and she let me sleep in her bed. The next day she made me breakfast and made sure I got home. That was a time when I really felt so alone and she just showed up they showed out the way she does thank you Mom Zelda I love you. I will never forget you.
