To the May family -
Wonderful memories of growing up on Elmgate Road are overwhelming me, hearing of Mrs. May’s passing. Those days in the 70s and 80s were several families and their young children going from house to house backyards to basements, you always knew we were at one of the houses. Hearing our parents call either down the street looking for us or calling each other‘s house looking for which kid…such special times. I have so many special memories of growing up with the May family, from my best buddy Steven, to his little brother Curtis hanging out with us, then the days when when sweet Cindy came along. Seeing Mr May come home from work in his little car, Mrs. May with patience trying to teach me piano. I can still hear her singing. I pray she is singing above and thank her for being one of the Elmgate moms. Much love to the family.

I worked with Phyllis at the Stockton School. I always admired her no-nonsense approach to life and the many ways she shared that along with her kindness and genuine concern for her students and all of us. She had a great laugh too. A really classy lady!

I was honored to be in their wedding,
And honored when Phyllis said that she was going to name her daughter, Cynthia May, after me.
Phyllis was a role model for me.
I shall miss our conversations about life and books we have read.
