Obituary of Alesia Booker
Please share a memory of Alesia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alesia Bernadette Booker (nee Minatee) was the first child born to William Minatee and Joanne Graves-Minatee on July 20th, 1962, in Camden, New Jersey. The eldest of seven sisters and two brothers, she was admired for her maturity and compassion. As a teenager she helped her mother in the home and this nurtured the caring, dependable woman that she would become.
In 1980 a vivacious Alesia met her future husband, Joe N. Booker Jr. The love birds were ecstatic to welcome Na’Tiya Fadawn in 1981, the first of three children. She was followed by another baby girl, Tara Lynn in 1984. The growing family went on a great expedition to Ogden, Kansas in 1987, due to Joes military career. The loving couple were officially married in 1989, solidifying the bond they shared. Several years later they returned to New Jersey where they welcomed their baby boy, Joe N. Booker III.
During the early years Alesia thrived as a homemaker. Always the “mother hen” she welcomed and loved all who came to her home. In her later years Alesia brought her compassion and love into her career as a Residential Counselor. She spent over 20 years pouring love and compassion into the lives of others. She retired in 2020.
Alesia will live forevermore in our hearts. She was extremely family oriented and always one to document every family celebration through pictures. In her words “pictures are memories that will forever live on.”
Alesia was beloved by many and will be truly missed. She was predeceased by her husband Joe N. Booker and eldest daughter Na’Tiya Fadawn, sister, Vanessa.
Alesia leaves behind a host of great memories. Her two children: Tara Lynn and Joe N.
