Pastor Steve Burton posted a condolence

I met Pastor Joe Ingram at the Rock Church in Pitman NJ about five years ago. We connected well and became good friends. We always had a substantial amount of communication mostly sharing the good blessings of God’s Word. A few years ago he invited to come and preach the Word of God at Restoration Fellowship. What a wonderful time that was meeting all the precious people and leadership of the church. I will always remember our friendship and all the grand memories of our connection in ministry. I know Pastor Joe is with Jesus now, for to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. My wife Pastor Carol and I extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Pastor Emmigene and to his precious family.

Mr Ingram, my 6th grade teacher! A man who cared. He took extra time with me. I had personal struggles but he believed in me! He visited my family back in the days to make sure I was doing ok. He wanted the best for me. He knew my mom and my brothers and many of us in the community! He was a mentor as well. He was like a father figure a spiritual father to us. He always smiled and he reminded me who God is and reminded me that God will be with me and He prayed for me on many occasions. He invited me to his church once. I spent the night at his home He and his wife were a blessing! I was so sad to hear you’re gone. I use to be able to call you if I just needed someone to pray for me! You will always be my favorite teacher and Thank you for always caring! Rest Easy Mr Ingram! You will be missed!

Justine Campbell, thank you for your condolences and reflections of Mr. Ingram. Yes, he always had a heart for all of his students, especially those perhaps tthat were struggling in areas.
I remembered vividly as if it were yesterday, how three to four students would come to spend the weekend with our family at the end of the school year. It was always exciting and fun. it's nice to know that Mr. Ingram will always be your favorite teacher.

Pastor Ingram/Dad has been there for me since I was 10/12. He has encouraged me to understand who I was in God. He got on me when I needed correction, loved me and prayed for me, I have been blessed to have been considered your God child. I will never forget your kindness and love. As you always have said, rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord 2nd Cor 5:8, I will see you again in glory. Theresa Powell Randall.

I love you Mr. Ingram! You are a special man. I wish I could have just one more conversation with you. You were tough as nails but you had love in your heart. Like many kids, you were my 6th grade teacher in Oak Valley School but you ended up being much more than that. Yes, you were a teacher but you were also an inspiration, leader, encourager, roll model and teacher in more ways than one. Some of us know a lot of your story...from your childhood all the way through some of your struggles. I’m fully aware that your life wasn’t always easy but WOW GOD used all of that to help so many others. Leading us to The Lord was always on your mind and you did just that over and over. I thank God for you Mr. Ingram. I will miss you very much. I know Jesus has met you, put his loving arms around you and said “well done my good and faithful servant”. I’m really sad as I end this tribute to you, I hope one day I can spend time with your family just to feel near you again. Ms. Ingram, I want to thank you for allowing and encouraging your husband to be used by Our Lord and Savior. Thank you for being his rock and encourager. Thank you for sharing him with the world and I say this with so much emotion and emotions, THANK YOU for sharing him with me!

Brent Caldwell, thank you for your condolences and tribute. It was so powerful and true about Mr. Ingram. It was great to hear, though Mr. Ingram was tough as nails, he had love in his heart. In fact your tribute confirmed what the Holy Spirit had given me, in that he had a tough exterior, but a tender interior.
It was good to know that you knew he was more than a teacher, but an inspirational leader. My family would be happy to meet with you in the future.

Mr. Ingram ended almost every conversation, phone call, or letter to me by saying, "Be encouraged." No one in my life has ever encouraged me the way he did. I could always go to him and he would always carry me to Christ when I was too weary to make the journey alone. I am so grateful for the influence of such a Godly man in my formative years and for his persistence in pursuing me through my adulthood.
It is strange to feel such deep grief and such great joy both at the same time. I imagine he is kissing the feet of Jesus. All thanks and glory be to God!
