Obituary of Andre M Jordan

André Maurice Jordan, Sr., the “man amongst men,” was a free spirit who touched the lives of many. No page could ever capture all of the adventures, antics, artistry, and memories of his life. He was such a dynamic individual. Some may remember him as quiet and reserved while others may remember over-the-top humor, deep intellectual conversations, or constant kindness and compassion. Since he was very human, there may even be memories of confrontation, yet there was typically resolution and it always came back to Andre’s infinite love energy. André was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on February 25, 1976. He was raised in Willingboro, New Jersey where he attended Temple Emanuel Pre-School, Hawthorne Elementary, J.F. Kennedy J.H.S., and Willingboro High School. During this time he enjoyed numerous extra-curricular activities, but was most enthusiastic about Awana, baseball, swimming, and playing in the band. He had great times with his friends and family, who he was often in cahoots with… especially “riverside” shenanigans among other things. André was known to enjoy a meal from Wawa or Gaetano’s. He also was an allegiant NY Giants, NY Mets, Brooklyn Nets and Michigan Wolverines fan. In 1994 André went on to pursue higher education. He majored in Music-Business at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. While there, he was in the marching band known as I.I.O.S. He eventually joined the music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity (Theta Mu) and met his wife La’Kisha. From there, the big journey began when they were blessed with being the parents of two amazing sons, Andre Jr. (A.J.) and Aaron. The story between the four of them is immense and beautiful in its own right. He was a phenomenal father and loving husband. Whether they experienced ups or downs as a family, the one thing that remained was their unbreakable bond that will continue in his absence. During André’s life, he delved into many interests in education and work. He has worked in the amusement park industry, food services, retail, security, accounting, Information Technology, Red Cross donation scheduling, warehouse package handling, Outside Sales, Marketing, Auto Sales, Pharmaceutical Sales, and Door Dash. He was recently preparing to work in Real Estate at a local agency he partnered with. His volunteerism at a time was as a church choir director, visiting with shut-in seniors, drawing comic strips for the church newsletter, helping build a house with Habitat for Humanity, PAL Baseball coach, talent show outreach coordination, and so much more. He received his Diploma of Computer Technology from Brookstone College of Business, but also took courses at Western Governors University (Business Management), Full Sail University (Music Production), Cape Fear Community College (Healthcare Business Informatics), and in 2021 studied for his real estate license with Mbition. In all this, André was always a Musician. He started writing songs and playing music as a child. Depending on what time in his life you knew him it may have been rap or what he eventually referred to as fusion music with multiple genres ringing through. At a time, he was known as Tha M.I.N.D.B.E.N.D.A., which stood for Tha Music Is Necessary Daily Because Everyone Needs Diverse Affection. He was also known to be affiliated with Espionage, Correy D., Eternal Theory, Wideload McKenna, The LRC, Blazing Daisies, 3BD’s, and also jammed with so many more. Andre played several instruments but his favorites that he mastered were keyboard and saxophone. This year, he was actively planning to become a DJ under the name DJ Lerxes and was covertly turning the bedroom into a mini-studio. In a small shift from music, André also wanted to share his absurd sense of humor with the world. He performed stand-up comedy in recent years under the name Kerby Jordan homage to his late cousin). As an entertainer, André’s mission was always to bring people together and help them be in the now, enjoying life. All of these experiences come with their own tales. André would want everyone to look back and remember the happy times more than the sorrow of this moment. While André bonded with many who he easily called family rather than friends (and meant it), in this tradition, he is survived by his wife La’Kisha D. Jordan, son Andre M. Jordan, Jr., son Aaron M. Jordan, mother Wanda J. Jordan, father Albert M. Jordan, sister Tanji L. Jordan, nephew Noah A. Jordan, sister Tomiko Roberts, niece Le’Ya Roberts, sister LeaighaTurner, nephew Christopher Turner, niece Nahla Turner, sister Rashanne Johnson Hicks, niece Raquel Johnson, nephew Darion Hicks, cousin Brayon Rice, cousin Zachary Brame, cousin Elliot Brame, Cousin Maurice Garvin, cousin Garey Garvin, the brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi, sisters of Tau Beta Sigma, and a host of cousins as well as other relatives and in-laws. He is preceded in death by far too many earth angels gone too soon. Together, may they all rest in peace.
