I met David and the Prescott family when I was a kid growing up in Passaic, NJ. Although I can't recall how we met, I have very fond memories of their beautiful family and home. I remember being at the Prescott's family home very often with my friends and my brother. We would read to Richard, watch movies, share meals, laugh, play with their pets and share many other moments.
David gave me my first job at his cheesesteak restaurant, he was reluctant because of my age but he took a chance. I was in high school and this was the early 2000's, it was a time of great change and unease in the world. Working with David was an amazing and humbling experience. I would mess up counting the money, would arrive late, didn't sweep correctly and I was sloppy with prepping the bread. David was patient as he would laugh or curse in a jovial manner, but there was always a lesson there.
David had many opportunities to fire me but he did not. His job kept me off the street and he would not judge me for my lifestyle choices. Over the years I lost contact with the Prescotts but my love for their family always stayed the same. I will have to live with that regret of not letting David know how much he meant to me.
David helped a lot of people and his lessons still live on with me. I could go on and on of what he helped instill in me. I still have my David's Cheesteaks t-shirt in my wardrobe and continue to make sandwiches David style. I love you David and the Prescott family.
I'm sorry I lost contact with you Dave, you were like a father to me in my formative years. I love you bro. Thank you for everything. May you Rest In Peace and may the creator bless your kind and wonderful soul.

Lois and family,
I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. I know your family from the First UMC of Passaic. I specifically remember David working in the kitchen and showing us his professional skills. I learned from David to watch the napkins, because people take way too many napkins and waste them!! He was right. May David rest in eternal peace. With love, Susan Schoepfer

David will always be remembered by his Church family in Passaic, N.J. . Lois, David , Richard and young David attended the First United Methodist Church for many years. David was involved with the Methodist Mens group and he always cooked at our fund raisers. He always had a friendly smile and greeting for everyone.
David always took part in our activities and volunteered before you would ask. We love you and miss you David.
God our Father we thank you for David Prescott and the ways he blessed us with his life and friendship. We miss him , but we know he is safely Home with You.
The FUMC family and the Methodist Men.

I met David back in early 1996. We were in a 28-day program together and immediately clicked. He entertained me with his stories and I with him. Over the years, he and I and Lois kept in touch.
You made a lasting great impression on me, David. Rest easy, my friend. You will be missed. With much love, Scott

My uncle David how I love you so,
On June 11th it was time to let you go..
We were rivals over football games,
When my Eagles won you wouldn’t even say their name.
Gone but never forgotten my biggest Giants fan,
God knows I’m going to miss you man.
Your niece, Lisa
