Obituary of Harvey James Gibson, Sr.

Harvey J. “Flash” Gibson, Sr. 88, of Beverly New Jersey peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on April 18, 2024, at home. Harvey was educated in the Trenton Public School system. He retired from the State of New Jersey DYFS as an Assistant Personnel Technician. He also worked at Thikol Chemical, Princeton Medical Center and Childcare Connection. For more than 50 years, Harvey’s main labor of love was completing income tax returns for hundreds of people each season. In 2015 Harvey and Phrizell moved from Trenton to Beverly, New Jersey. His wife was the “love of his life” as he would always tell her. They enjoyed many years of traveling throughout the United States as well as celebrating the accomplishments of their children. He was a current member of Saints’ Memorial Community Church of Willingboro, NJ. He was also a longtime former member of Lord Jesus Love Temple Church in Trenton under the leadership of the late Pastor Nancy Spearman. His favorite scripture was “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.” Philippians 4:13 KJV Harvey was predeceased by his parents Horace Gibson, Sr. and Mother Lexie Gibson, sister Doris Pryor, brothers Eddie, Horace, Jr. and Lee Gibson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phrizell, a son Reverend Harvey Gibson, Jr. (Angela),; Stepchildren, Orlando Wright, Sharon Wright, Cynthia McQueen (Willie), Angela Wright (Mark Dunn), Kevin Wright (Sylvia), Sarita Wilson and Tracey Wright; a sister Esther Ward; sister-in-law Madeleine Gibson; twelve grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. While are hearts are heavy, we know that, that our beloved Harvey is resting with his Heavenly father. He was a remarkable man of God who was loved by many. He always had a vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, and a giving heart of gold. “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Lovingly submitted, The family
